RAGGED EDGE . . .
featuring...
Cartoon lettering reading: Men in white
Cartoon of two men in white, one with hypodermic, another with noose. Caption reads "coming soon to a neighborhood near you!"

Another visit from Grim Reality

Over the last two years, a ferver has fallen on the land. (That's sorta like a pestilence, only faster.)

Led by the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI, largely an organization of families with disabled loved ones), and the NAMI-spawned Treatment Advocacy Center, 41 states have adopted Involuntary Outpatient Commitment Laws.
You might ask: Don't those people prefer being hunted down and drugged in their owh homes to the alternative, insanity?

Better question: Who would join families in this quest and fund the 41-state sweep? Why your friendly little pharmaceutical giants, that's who.

These cartoons are reprinted with permission from MadNation.

Cartoon of man at podium of the National Alliance of the Morally Inexcusable. Man says, 'Better that 10,000 harmless eccentrics be doped up than that one dangerous wacko go unmedicated."
cartoon of nurse with giant hypodermic, man strapped to table, buttocks up. Nurse says, "right or left" buttock? Cartoon is titled, 'Free to choose."
Cartoon of two "meds on wheels" guys breaking into a home, tying up a man and injecting him. Man standing in door looks at chart and says something to guy with hypo needle, who says, 'What do you mean, the wrong address?"
