Cop Gets Certificate Of Bravery But Wants Job

By Dave Reynolds, Inclusion Daily Express (subscribe)

CAÑON CITY, CO--The following four paragraphs are excerpts from a story in Sunday's Loveland Daily Reporter-Herald:

Roger Parsons has a framed certificate telling him he's a brave man.

The Cañon City Police Department gave it to him “for modeling courage and perseverance in the face of adversity” after an off-duty crash last year left the 12-year veteran paralyzed from the waist down.

A week later, the department fired him.

Parsons, 43, has been asking for a job since then -- any job he can do.
