NY Won't Fix Broken Subway Elevator at Times Square

A subway elevator at New York City's Times Square station has been out of order for over a month -- and NYC gimps can't get the Transit Authority to do a thing about it.

The elevator provides access to eight major subway lines plus the Times Square Shuttle.

"There is no sign of any effort to repair it," says the NYC Disabled Riders Coalition.

Transit Authority officials tell the group there's "nothing they can do" -- and say that they won't put the outage on the toll-free "elevator hotline" which disabled riders can call ahead of time to find out if an elevator or escalator is out of service -- because, they say, they don't own the property.
