Demonstration at Berkeley against University of California Disability Services Cut
On Nov. 16, Berkeley's disabled students and community supporters from Berkeley's Center for Independent Living will join a protest overnight at Berkeley's Sproul Plaza to protest cuts. "Secretarial and reader assistance are being eliminated," says a widely-distributed email.
Join students and community members from the Coalition to Defend Affirmative Action (BAMN), Berkeley Stop the War Coalition, and the Disability Studies Faculty, and the Center for Independent Living in protesting against budget cuts for student programs at noon on November 17th, 2005, on Upper Sproul at UC Berkeley. Students are also DEMONSTRATING OVERNIGHT on Sproul from 10pm on November 16th to the time of the MARCH TO REGENTS MEETING AT 9AM on November 17th to call dramatic attention to the University budget cuts. There will also be a NOON RALLY ON SPROUL ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 17TH FOLLOWING THE MEETING.
