Montana Resort Must Give Access, Says Court
WHITEFISH, MT Mar. 28, 2002 Attorneys for Kim and Marco Barreda and the Ptarmigan Village resort have settled the lawsuit filed by the Barredas after the court ruled that Ptarmigan Village was indeed a "place of public accommodation" under the Amreicans with Disabilities Act (see "Montana resort fights access"). The resort community, which offers nightly condo rentals to the public, had insisted it did not need to obey the ADA and provide accessible pathways for the Barredas and others in wheelchairs.
