Supremes nix medical marijuana, but Rehnquist sees benefit

WASHINGTON, DC, JUNE 6, 2005-- The federal government may prosecute people who use marijuana for medical reasons, even in states with laws allowing medicinal use of the drug, the Supreme Court ruled today. In a 6-3 decision, the court sided with the administration, saying the federal Controlled Substances Act (CSA) trumps state laws.
