Nursing Home Rule Has No Teeth
WASHINGTON, DC, Jan. 6, 2003 --Beginning the first of this month, nursing homes are required by federal law to publicly post the number of nurses and nursing assistants providing direct care to residents on each shift.
The idea is to give consumers and family members correct information about staffs at the nation's 17,000 nursing homes.
